To create a Pinterest App, you must first have a Pinterest account. If you do not have an account, create one and then visit the Pinterest Developer Portal.

After signing up, you will be asked to verify your email address and agree to the Developer Terms. The screen will look similar to the image shown below:

Note: You must use a Pinterest Business account to create an App. Log in to your Pinterest account and go to the Developer Portal.

Once the verification step is complete, click Connect App to connect your Pinterest App. The screen will look similar to the image shown below:

After clicking Create App, you will be redirected to the Connect App page. Enter all the required information and submit the form. The screen will look similar to the image shown below:

You have now successfully created your Pinterest Application. You will be redirected to the My Apps page.

Your App will be reviewed for trial access, and you will receive an email once there is an update. After receiving the email, click the Manage button on the same page, as shown in the image below.

Once you click Manage, the App details page will open. From here, you can find and copy the App Secret Key. The screen will look similar to the image shown below:

Now, copy the App ID and App Secret Key and enter them in the plugin’s settings page. Before saving the settings, copy the Redirect URL provided in the Note section above and add it to your Pinterest App settings. The screen will look similar to the image shown below.

Important: When copying and pasting the required IDs and Keys, make sure there are no extra spaces at the beginning or end of the entries. Any extra spaces may prevent the application from working correctly and may cause an error when you try to connect to the App.

Note: Pinterest requires an SSL-enabled domain. To enable posting to Pinterest boards, your website must have a valid SSL certificate. Otherwise, posting to Pinterest will not work.

Go to the Pinterest Developer Portal, select your App, and click the Manage button. Below the App Secret Key, you will find the option to add the Redirect URL.

After adding the Redirect URL, go back to the plugin settings page and click Grant Extended Permission. You will be redirected to a screen similar to the image shown below. Click Give Access to grant the required permissions.

Your Pinterest account is now ready to use.

Note: After successfully authorizing your application for the first time, you must submit the application for review.

Go to the Pinterest Developer Portal and select the application you authorized. The page will look similar to the image shown below. Fill in all the required information and click the Submit button.

Pinterest will review your application and, once approved, you will be able to use it for the required functionality. The screen will look similar to the image shown below.
